Paris Lin
Bio
Paris Lin is an animator and illustrator currently study in OCAD focusing on experimental animation program. She has a degree of knowledge and practice in illustration, animation, and woodworking. Paris is the cover artist for the 27th and 28th ComicCup exhibition. She is the anime Hobby designer for the 29th ComicCup exhibition in Shanghai. Paris will keep exploring the connection between animation and emotion, and the audience.
Artist Statement
Paris Lin was born in Guangzhou in 2002 and currently live and study in Toronto, OCAD University. She is focusing on animation and illustration to explore emotional expression. Observing things in life is her interest and constant. She will combine what she observes and incorporate it into her work. She hopes to use animation as a medium to convey rich emotions to the audience. Paris’ work is dominantly based on digital works, with knowledge of stop-motion animation and 3D modeling. She is committed to exploring different languages of animation through different approaches to animation. Concentrating on the communication of the scene's information. Paris' obsession with animation and emotional communication comes from the different kinds of animation she encountered growing up. She believes that most of the animation and creation comes from a foundation of daily life. Animation that conveys emotion well is something that the audience can relate to and be a part of. Paris hopes that as an animation creator she can keep this feeling and bring the same emotion to the audience.
